OK, it’s symbolic…but my memory of Romney-as-Governor always comes
down to the fact that there was a velvet rope and two state troopers
preventing the unwashed citizenry, including me, from going down the
corridor to the Governor’s office. That was among the first things to
go, once he went (thankfully) off to run for President.

My Dad was one of those state troopers that was stationed outside the Governor’s Office during previous administrations (before Mitt). It was standard practice.
