Romney carried to an extreme his personal fight against the right of same sex partners to marry. He not only fought for a referendum in Masssachusetts but also spent a lot of time trying to influence Governors of other states to “amend their Constitutions before it is too late.” He had a right to his personal opinion but not a right to take time from his day job as Governor to attempt to gain national recognition and support for his aspiration to become President of the US. Small wonder that he is unpopular with a majority of voters in Massachusetts.
